Scholarships
Detroit Omega Foundation, Inc. historically
has cast a broad net and concentrated on helping a large number
of students each year. In refining its program, DOFI recently changed
its emphasis and now focuses on larger individual scholarship amounts
to fewer students. Currently, it awards $5,000 four-year scholarships
each year to four Detroit area African American male graduating
high school seniors for them to continue their education at a Historically
Black College or University.
The scholarships are renewable each year so long
as the recipien t continues to meet specified eligibility requirements.
The deadline for applying is April 15. Selections are made in May
and awardees are showcased at the Annual Scholarship and Awards
Dinner in June.
